This fine fellow is my first try at animating a walk cycle! Created in Fall 2020 for Art 341: Intro to Animation at UMBC under the guidance of Professor Corrie Parks.
This 24-frame walk cycle was drawn in Adobe Photoshop with help from AnimDessin, and the final composition put together in Adobe After Effects. Through this project I learned pose-to-pose animation, working with key poses, and working in passes and layers to maintain as much control and organization as possible.

At left is the first sketch of this character. His name is Harold and he likes sauerkraut with his burgers. He has a dachshund named Frank whom he takes for walks every evening in Central Park.
He was a warm-up doodle for other creative work, but his simple geometric shapes and stylish accessories made him a perfect character to animate! I had a lot of fun giving him rubber-hose limbs and some cheerful bounce.
